“O’ You of Little
Faith”
Matthew 6:30-34
30 If that
is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is
thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31
So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?”
or “What shall we wear?”
32
For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father
knows that you need them.
33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things
will be given to you as well.
34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
itself. Each day has enough trouble of
its own.

Matthew 8:23-27
23
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
24
Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves
swept over the boat. But Jesus was
sleeping.
25
The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26
He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the
waves, and it was completely calm.
27
The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Matthew 14:27-32
27
But Jesus immediately said to them:
“Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the
water.”
29
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got
down out of the boat and walked on the water to Jesus.
30
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried
out, “Lord, save me!”
31
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "O you of
little faith, why did you doubt?"
32
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

Matthew 16:5-8
5
When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread.
6
“Be careful,” Jesus said to them.
“Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
7
They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t
bring any bread.”
8
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith, why are
you talking among yourselves about having no bread?”
Matthew 16:9-12
9
“Do you still not understand?
Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many
basketfuls you gathered?”
10
“Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you
gathered?”
11
“How is it you do not understand that I
was not talking to you about bread?
But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
12
Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the
yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Adam Clarke says…
“In what a lamentable state of blindness is the human mind! Bodily wants are perceived with the utmost
readiness, and a supply is sought with all speed. But the necessities of the soul are rarely
discovered, though they are more pressing than those of the body, and the
supply of them of infinitely more importance.”
James 2:17

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
How much faith do you have?
Have you obeyed God?
