“TO GOD BE THE GLORY”

We live in a “me-centric” world.

God’s priority isn’t your comfort or happiness.

It’s all about God … it’s not all about you or me.

God’s priority is for Him to receive all the honor and glory.

God created the universe to        glorify Him.

God chose the Jews to glorify     Him.

God allows troubles in your life to     glorify Him.

God sent Jesus to earth to glorify      Him.

God created the universe to     glorify Him.

   Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

God chose the Jews to glorify Him.

   Isaiah 43:7

“…everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

God allows troubles in your life      to glorify Him.

   Psalm 50:15

“…and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

God sent Jesus to earth to        glorify Him.

   John 17:4

“I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.”

We are “reflectors” of His glory, and everything exists to give God the glory.

   2 Corinthians 3:18

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

  1 Chronicles 16:24

Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.

   Romans 11:36

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.  To Him be the glory forever!  Amen.

  God doesn’t share His glory.

   Isaiah 42:8

“I am the Lord; that is my name!  I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.”

It’s all about Him…it’s not about you.

   John 3:30

“He must become greater; I must become less.”

   1.  Your SUCCESS Is For God’s               Glory.

God blesses you to glorify Him.

    1 Corinthians 3:7, 1:31

7  So neither he who plants nor he         who waters is anything, but only      God, who makes things grow.

31  Therefore, as it is written:  “Let          him who boasts boast in the               Lord.”

   2.  Your BODY Is To Be Used To       Glorify Him.

   1 Corinthians 6:19-20

   19  Do you not know that your body        is a temple of the Holy Spirit,                who is in you, whom you have   received from God?  You are not         your own;

20  you were bought at a price.                 Therefore honor God with your       body.

Your body is God’s tool…maintain it for His glory.

  Your body is God’s temple…

   respect it for His glory.

   1 Corinthians 3:16

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

  3.  Your STRUGGLES Are To Be        Used For God’s Glory.

That’s one purpose for your                     trials.

   Psalm 50:15

“…and call upon me in the day of         trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

    1 Peter 4:16

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

Lazarus died to give God glory.

   John 11:1-4

1  Now a man named Lazarus was        sick.  He was from Bethany, the       village of Mary and her sister      Martha.

2 This Mary, whose brother Lazarus      now lay sick, was the same one       who poured perfume on the Lord       and wiped His feet with her hair.

3  So the sisters sent word to Jesus,     “Lord, the one you love is sick.”

4  When He heard this, Jesus said,         “This sickness will not end in               death.  No, it is for God’s glory so      that God’s Son may be glorified        through it.”

Your trials, struggles and problems will be used of God to give Him glory.

Are people strengthened    because of your struggles?

Do they see the glory of God in      your trials?

They are there to display His    glory through you.

God is using you as a “Son-reflector.”

   2 Corinthians 4:17

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

   1 Corinthians 10:31

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Glorify God in everything you DO.

   Matthew 5:16

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

Glorify God in all your STRUGGLES.

   2 Corinthians 4:15, 16

15  All this is for your benefit, so that the   grace that is reaching more and more     people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

16  Therefore we do not lose heart.     Though outwardly we are wasting      away, yet inwardly we are being    renewed day by day.

It’s not about YOU … it’s how you can give God the most glory.  Don’t waste any opportunity to give God the glory, and by doing so your life will be mightily blessed.
