When Our World Falls Apart

              1 Peter 4:12-16

12 “Dear friends, do not be surprised at

the painful trial you are suffering, as

         though something strange were

         happening to you.

13  But rejoice that you participate in the

sufferings of Christ, so that you may

be overjoyed when his glory is

       revealed.

14  If you are insulted because of the name

of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit

of  glory and of God rests on you.

15  If you suffer, it should not be as a

murderer or thief or any other kind of

criminal, or even as a meddler.

16  However, if you suffer as a Christian, do

not be ashamed, but praise God that

       you bear that name.”

     2 Corinthians 11:23-28

23 “Are they servants of Christ? (I am

out of my mind to talk like this.) I am

more. I have worked much harder,

been in prison more frequently, been

       flogged more severely, and been

exposed to death again and again.

24  Five times I received from the Jews

       the forty lashes minus one.

25 Three times I was beaten with rods,

once I was stoned, three times I was

shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day

        in the open sea,

26  I have been constantly on the move. I

have been in danger from rivers, in

danger from bandits, in danger from my

        own countrymen, in danger from

Gentiles; in danger in the city, in

        danger in the country, in danger at sea;

and in danger from false brothers.

27 I have labored and toiled and have

often gone without sleep; I have known

hunger and thirst and have often gone

without food; I have been cold and

        naked.

28  Besides everything else, I face daily

the pressure of my concern for all the

         churches.”

               Look At Paul’s Experience

           2 Corinthians 12:7-9

7  To keep me from becoming

         conceited because of these

         surpassingly great revelations,

there was given me a thorn in my

flesh, a messenger of Satan, to

          torment me.

8  Three times I pleaded with the Lord

to take it away from me.

9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient

for you, for my power is made perfect in

weakness." Therefore I will boast all the

more gladly about my weaknesses, so

that Christ's power may rest on me.

                 What Can We Do?

                   Some Suggestions

           #1 – Consider The Source

        Of Temptation And Trials

Acts 5:3 ... Then Peter said, "Ananias, how

is it that Satan has so filled your heart that

you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have

kept for yourself some of the money you

    received for the land?

1 Corinthians 7:5 ...  Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.”

         1 Peter 5:8

        “Be self-controlled and alert. Your

enemy the devil prowls around like    a roaring lion looking for someone     to devour.”

                Consider The Source

l   Of Sickness, Disability and Disease

     Luke 13:16

“Then should not this woman, a daughter

of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound

for eighteen long years, be set free on

the Sabbath day from what bound her?"

             Consider The Source

l   Of Sickness, Disability and Disease

    Acts 10:38

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth

with the Holy Spirit and power, and how

he went around doing good and healing

all who were under the power of the

devil, because God was with him.”

             Consider The Source

l   Of The Pharisees’ Wickedness

   John 8:44

“You belong to your father, the devil,

and you want to carry out your

father's desire. He was a murderer

from the beginning, not holding to the

truth, for there is no truth in him.

When he lies, he speaks his native

language, for he is a liar and the father

     of lies”

                Consider The Source

l   Of Spiritual Blindness

   2 Corinthians 4:4

“The god of this age has blinded the

minds of unbelievers, so that they

cannot see the light of the gospel of

the glory of Christ, who is the image

     of God.”

                Consider The Source

l   Ephesians 6:11-12

11“Put on the full armor of God so that

you can take your stand against the

         devil's schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh

and blood, but against the rulers,

        against the authorities, against the

powers of this dark world and

against the spiritual forces of evil in

        the heavenly realms.”
