THE ASSURANCE OF
 OUR SALVATION

Do You Know That
You Are Saved?

Do You Know That You
 Are
Going To Heaven?

TWO EXTREME VIEWS

-I cannot know that I am saved
(No Security)

1 John 5:13

I write these things to you who
believe in the name of the Son of
God so that you may know that
  you have eternal life.

Ephesians 3:10-12

His intent was that now, through the
church, the manifold wisdom of God
should be made known to the rulers and
authorities in the heavenly realms according
to his eternal purpose which he accomplished
In Christ Jesus our Lord. In him and through
faith in him we may approach God with
 freedom and confidence.

2 Timothy 4: 6-8
For I am already being poured out like a
drink offering, and the time has come for my
departure. I have fought the good fight, I
have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
Judge, will award to me on that day--and
not only to me, but also to all who have
  longed for his appearing.

TWO EXTREME
VIEWS

-I cannot know that I am saved (No Security)

-I Cannot Be Lost (False Security)

Galatians 1:6-9
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.  But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

Galatians 5:4

You who are trying to be justified by law
have been alienated from Christ; you have
  fallen away from grace.

THE BASIS FOR OUR SECURITY

- Abiding in the Truth

1 John 1:5,6

This is the message we have heard from him
and declare to you: God is light; in him
there is no darkness at all.  If we claim to
have fellowship with him yet walk in the
darkness, we lie and do not live
  by the truth.

1 John 2:24,25

See that what you have heard from the
beginning remains in you. If it does,
you also will remain in the Son and in
the Father. And this is what he
 promised us--even eternal life.

1 John 3:11
This is the message you heard
   from the beginning: We should
 love one another.

2 John 1:6
And this is love: that we walk in
      obedience to his commands. As
you have heard from the beginning,
his command is that you walk in love.

THE BASIS FOR
OUR
SECURITY

-Abiding in the Truth
- Walking in the Light

WALKING IN THE LIGHT  INCLUDES:

-A Striving Obedience to Gods Will

Acts 24:15-16
“…and I have the same hope in God as
these men, that there will be a resurrection
of both the righteous and the wicked. So I
strive always to keep my conscience clear
  before God and man.

Philippians 3:13,14

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to
have taken hold of it. But one thing I do:
Forgetting what is behind and straining
toward what is ahead, I press on toward
the goal to win the prize for which God has
called me heavenward in Christ Jesus

1 John 3:18-22
Dear children, let us not love with words or
tongue but with actions and in truth. This
then is how we know that we belong to the
truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his
presence whenever our hearts condemn us.
For God is greater than our hearts, and he
knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts
do not condemn us, we have  confidence
before God and receive from him anything we
ask, because we obey his commands and do
 what pleases him.

WALKING IN THE LIGHT
              INCLUDES:

- A Striving Obedience to Gods Will

- A Confession of Sin

1 John 1:9-10

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins and purify us
from all unrighteousness. If we claim we
have not sinned, we make him out to be a
liar and his word has no place in our lives.

WALKING IN THE LIGHT
                 INCLUDES:

                   - A Striving Obedience to God
s Will
          - Confession of Sin
          - Repentance of Sin

2 Corinthians 7:10,11
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to
salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly
sorrow brings death. See what this godly
sorrow has produced in you: what
  earnestness, what eagerness to clear
  yourselves, what indignation, what alarm,
what longing, what concern, what readiness
to see justice done. At every point you have
proved yourselves to be innocent in this
  matter.

THE BASIS
 FOR
OUR SECURITY

-Abiding In Truth
-Walking In The Light
-Standing Upon The Grace of God

Ephesians 2:8,9

For it is by grace you have been
 saved, through faith--and this not
from yourselves, it is the gift of
God-- not by works, so that no
 one can boast.

Romans 5:1,2
Therefore, since we have been justified
through faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ, through
whom we have gained access by faith into
this grace in which we now stand. And we
rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:10,11
For if, when we were God's enemies, we
were reconciled to him through the
death of his Son, how much more, having
been reconciled, shall we be saved through
his life! Not only is this so, but we also
rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus
Christ, through whom we have now received
    reconciliation.

Hebrews 7:25

Therefore he is able to save Completely
those who come to God through him,
because he always lives to intercede for
   them.

-ARE YOU LIVING WITH
A SURRENDERED HEART?

-ARE YOU SECURE IN CHRIST?
